Alibaug is a small seaside town in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. I along with my friends planned for a small weekend holiday trip to Alibaug last week. For a beachside holiday trip Alibaug is best. There are many beaches in Alibaug. Tourism is the main source of economy of the city. Some of the beaches in Alibaug are; Alibaug beach, Varsoli Beach, Akshi Beach, Nagaon beach, Kihim-Navgaon Beach, Kashid Beach, and Korlai Beach. [caption id="attachment_1027" align="alignnone" width="259"] Alibaug[/caption] We stayed at Aarhaah Holiday Home near Kihim Beach. We had a great stay there. We visited almost all tourist spots in Alibaug. Some of the main tourist attractions in Alibaug are Siddheshwar Temple, Jewish Synagogue and Kolaba Sea Fort. Siddheshwar Temple is the main and famous temple at Alibaug. The temple is located on the top of a hill. We had a small trek to reach the temple from the bottom of the hill. The other place we visited there were Darya Samrat Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre’s home and Samadhi. We also visited the old Jewish Synagogue a scared place for the Jews in Alibaug. Kolaba Sea Fort in Alibaug is said to have been built by Kanhoji Angre, Shivaji’s admiral. We went there during low tide. How to reach: The nearest railway station to Alibaug is Pen, which is about 28kms from the city and the nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Mumbai.
