I along with my friends had a short holiday trip to Bhimtal on last summer vacation. Bhimtal is a small hill station of Uttarakhand. We stayed at Maple Leaf Resort there. Bhimtal is one of the best places in India to spent summer holidays. The climate there was very pleasant. The surrounding extremely beautiful hills covered with lush green forest add to the beauty of the hill station. [caption id="attachment_1175" align="alignnone" width="295"] Bhimtal Lake[/caption] I have heard about the beauty of Bhimtal Lake before but this was the first time I am experiencing. The Bhimtal Lake is the centre of attraction in this hill station. On the centre of the lake there is a small island where restaurant facility is available. We enjoyed the awesome beauty of the lake from there. We took special permission from DCFR for angling in the lake. We also went for boating. On the banks of the Bhimtal Lake is the wonderful Bhimeshwar Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There exists a belief that the temple was built by Bhim during the ancient times. The next place we visited was Hanuman Garhi. There in that beautiful temple we could see a giant statue of Lord Hanuman. The temple was on the way to Naukuchiatal Lake. We also visited the nearby Hidimba Parvat, Victoria Dam and Karkotaka Temple. Trekking and paragliding in Bhimtal was really wonderful. Some of my friends enjoyed rock climbing also. The days we spent in Bhimtal were really amazing.
