In Masinagudi sanctuary there are about 55 species of mammals, 227 species of birds, 21 species of amphibian’s, 50 species of fishes, 34 species of reptiles, & also 4 species of Cats among the 15 species found in India ie; Indian Leopard, Bengal Tiger, Leopard Cat and Jungle Cat.
The main attractions here in Masinagudi are Mountain Trekking, Temple visit, Jeep Safari, Elephant Safari, Fishing and swimming. For Mountain Trekking you will take about 90 minutes to reach the peak and per head you have to pay Rs 250/-. You can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Western Ghats by sitting on the peak of the mountain.

Mudumalai National Park is at a distance of about 15 kms from Masinagudi. This is one of the tiger reserves in India. This sanctuary is home to tigers, leopards, bison, spotted deer, Asian elephants and many other rare wild animals. About 266 species of birds have been found here including the black and orange flycatchers which are facing extinction.

Bandipur National Park is at a distance of about 25 kms from Masinagudi. This is also one of the protected Tiger Reserves in India. There are around 70 tigers, over 300 bird species, a large number of Asian elephants, panthers, Jackals, spotted deer, sloth bears, grey langurs and snakes from cobra to python in this National Park.

Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta is a famous hilltop of Masinagudi. The hilltop got its name from the temple dedicated to Lord Krishna on the top of the hill. From the top of the hill you can also see animals in the nearby Bandipur National Park. This place is one of the main tourist attractions of Masinagudi.
