Snorkeling & Scuba Diving in Kovalam starting from 16th April 2015

Scuba Diving at Kovalam, Trivandrum from April 16^th onwards. This is really great news for adventure seekers. Those interested in exploring a fascinating aquatic world can look forward to scuba diving at the famous beach resort, Somatheeram of Kovalam. This has been organized by the joined effort of Kerala Tourism and the Department of Ports at the Lighthouse beach in Kovalam.

 

People without prior experience in scuba diving will be given an initial training in the sea or a pool of the resort. You will get the opportunity to see the multipurpose artificial reef installed between the light house and the Edakkal rocks of the Lighthouse beach and the marine life around it.

 

Four people can undertake scuba diving at a time. Rate per person is Rs 5000/-. You will be taken 500 m away from the shore in a boat at the morning. Another boat will tail you. You can go up to a depth of 5 ft.

 

Five sets of swimsuit, breathing apparatus, and googles will be provided by the Department of Ports. Each diver will be accompanied by trained people from the National Institute of Water Sports. You can also click pictures of marine life using waterproof cameras.

 

Only those above 15 years of age will be allowed to dive. The scuba diving will be managed by the Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society. You can make prior bookings also.
