The Department of Art and Culture, Rajasthan has launched a new initiative of ‘Night Tourism’ in Jaipur city to make sightseeing during the summer season more bearable. In Rajasthan, this has been launched for the first time in Amer Fort, Jaipur.
This 16th century fort is one of the most fascinating tourist sites in Rajasthan. A walk up its steep access ways and under its arches will surely take you to the rich ancient past of Rajasthan. This new initiative of Rajasthan Government will help the travelers to escape from the daytime temperature of about 50 degree Celsius.
Colourful lights of different intensities have been installed in Jaleb Chowk, Diwan-e-Aam, Mansingh Mahal and Sheesh Mahal within the fort, contributing to a charming display. Adequate security arrangements have been made for the visitors, particularly the aged and physically handicapped and also power back up facilities are there.
The opening time of the fort for ‘Night Tour’ is from 7pm till 10 pm. The entry fee per person is Rs 100/-. Considering the good response from the visitors, some other monuments will also be opened for night viewing in the Pink City shortly.
