Jharkhand government is planning to formulate specific policies for Film Tourism and Land Bank to promote both tourism as well as tourism investments in the State.
There are a number of initiatives in this new policy not only to increase the tourist footfall in the State, but also to develop tourism infrastructure with the help of the private sector.
The overall aim of this new initiative is on developing tourism infrastructure at destinations. The policy offers numerous subsidies and tax reliefs to the tourism sector. For this, every department of the Jharkhand government will work in tandem to develop and promote tourism.
As concerned with film tourism, the state is endowed with natural beauty in terms of hilly terrains, forest, tribal culture, etc., which are ideal for film tourism. The proposed film tourism policy will look at aspects of safety, security, regulatory issues, etc. to make the state an ideal destination for film shooting.
The government has also identified suitable land parcels for tourism development, and will soon announce a land bank policy.
