Dona Paula is a former village, and tourist destination, in the suburbs of Panaji. The famous beach here is located just 7 kms from Panaji. This place is called the Lovers Paradise in Goa. This is the place where two of Goa's famous rivers meet the Arabian Sea is the bay of Dona Paula with a very good view of the Marmagao Harbour. This is one of the very famous areas frequented by tourists in the state. The idyllic rocky tourist attraction lies at the spot where the Mandovi and the Zuari rivers meet and confluences with the Arabian Sea at a distance of 1 km from this point. The other main tourist attraction of the place is a whitewashed statue perched on the rocks near the popular ferry jetty.
The best time to visit is from November to March. The nearest railway station is Karmali Railway Station, 15 km from the beach. The nearest airport is Dabolim airport located at 30 kms from Panaji. You can reach here by availing a bus or motorcycle-taxi from Panaji or the ferry service from Mormugao.
