Pernem is a city in North Goa district of Goa. The two waterfalls of the city are Sarmale in Mauli Temple and another Malpe at Mulvir Temple area. The Morjim Beach, popularly known as the Turtle Beach, is located in this city. This beach is named so, as it serves as a hatching and nesting habitat of the Olive Ridley turtles, which are an endangered species. The sight of the tiny hatchlings, turtles and crabs is really an unforgettable one. The most popular activity here is Kite surfing, because of its shallow depth. Another main attraction of the beach is a cross on the rock podium on the shores.

Here you can find many small holiday homes where you can relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of the beach. The best time to visit the state is from November to March ie; during Christmas and New Year. A ban has been imposed on beach parties at turtle-nesting sites of the beach, so that the breeding patterns are not disrupted.

The city is well connected by road and the Konkan railway. Pernem railway station is the first railway station in Goa for inbound trains from Mumbai. The nearest airport is Dabolim airport.
